Our Team

Jessi was brought up in Guernsey where she discovered her passion for the marine environment and nature more generally, After living in New Zealand for several years, she moving back to Guernsey in 2024. Her experience inncludes environmental regulation, environmental policy development and biodiversity net gain outcomes as well as involvement with nature-related NGOs and citizen science projects.

Angela has maintained a strong passion for the natural environment throughout her life. Formerly a primary school teacher, Angela worked voluntarily alongside her teaching role for nearly twenty years as part of the Guernsey Conservation Volunteers (GCV). In September 2021, Angela left teaching to take up a paid part-time role for GCV as Operations Director.

Charlotte is a recently qualified ecologist, who brings with her a broad range of experience in practical and theoretical conservation, as well as a love for island life and its biodiversity. Charlotte was the first recipient of the La Société Guernesiaise Bursary in 2020, for her on-island research of management intensity on the biodiversity of hedgerows.

Moving to Guernsey from the UK in 2009, Jonathan has a lifelong passion for environmental protection and sustainability, wishing to use his analytical skills from a degree in mathematics and physics, and several years administration experience in a healthcare setting, to help bring about positive change in public engagement with Guernsey’s natural environment.

Having grown up in Guernsey, Sam has always felt a strong connection to the island’s natural environment. After studying Wildlife and Practical Conservation at the University of Salford, he spent the past year undertaking conservation volunteering placements across the UK. As an intern, Sam is looking forward to developing new skills and contributing to local conservation projects

After coming back to the island from university, Leah worked at the GSPCA, allowing her to work very closely with a wide range of local wildlife. In 2025, she took on the volunteer role of Zoology Section secretary for La Société Guernesiaise, and is investigating the population of feral ferrets on Guernsey. Leah is looking forward to seeing first-hand how the Nature Commission champion conservation through public events, ecological assessments and monitoring, and their influence of legislation.
