The Music of Nature Concert
The first-ever Music of Nature Concert took place on 27th November at the Princess Royal Centre for the Performing Arts. The Concert was a collaboration between the Guernsey Music Service and the Nature Commission and is part of the Cultural Enrichment Programme for children in States-maintained primary schools.
The concert, performed by The Coull Quartet and local musician Mervyn Grand, introduced Year 4 children to a series of nature-themed pieces accompanied by short nature videos from the Nature Commission.
The videos displayed Guernsey's marine life, hedgerows and heathland, enabling children to learn about the island's natural environment.
This concert was the start of a series of lessons about nature and music that will take place across primary schools in spring and summer 2026. The Year 4 children will learn about nature and compose their own music to accompany the nature videos.
The nature videos can be found on the Nature Commission's YouTube page
Together, let’s make nature part of everyday life.
