Nature Commission appoints CEO

The Nature Commission, launched earlier this year, has great pleasure in announcing the appointment of Jessi Jennings, as CEO. Jessi will join Angela Salmon (Head of Operations and Education) and Charlotte Burgoine (Ecologist) who are already in post at the Nature Commission.

Brought up in Guernsey where she discovered her passion for the marine environment and nature more generally, Ms Jennings has lived in New Zealand for the last 6 years. She has experience in environmental regulation, environmental policy development and biodiversity net gain outcomes as well as involvement with nature-related NGOs and citizen science projects.

The Nature Commission aims to enhance Guernsey’s natural environment within a generation by ensuring that nature matters to islanders of all ages. It spearheads change through collaboration and education with citizen science projects playing a key part.

Before her return to the island in the new year, Ms Jennings will regularly liaise with the Nature Commission staff and board of directors in readiness for starting her new role.

‘I am incredibly excited to take on this role. I have always been passionate about Guernsey’s natural environment and knowing the strength of support that is behind the Nature Commission, I am certain that we will achieve amazing biodiversity outcomes. I can’t wait to get stuck in!’
